Carol was born on December 5, 1962, in Hammond, Indiana, daughter of Lawrence and Janice (Hines) Armstrong.

Carol graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago, Illinois, and went on to attend Kennedy King and Olive Harvey Colleges for elementary education. After graduation, Carol went to work for Tiny Tots Villa teaching preschool, a job which she truly loved and devoted over 20 years of her life to. After moving to Dubuque, Carol went to work with the daycare center at Holy Ghost School, until she was forced into early retirement due to her health issues. She was a very faith filled woman who shared freely of her time and talents with Lighthouse Baptist Church. Her family was always at the top of Carol’s priority list, and she cherished all of the time she spent with them.
