Dale Braun

Dale Braun, age 70, of Dubuque, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at his home. To celebrate Dale’s life, private family services were held at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street.

Dale was born on April 16, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa, where he graduated from Hempstead High School. Dale went throughout Iowa as a young man playing lead guitar for various rock and country western music bands, until he found Faith in Jesus Christ our Lord, then he began to play Christian music only. One of his favorites was Sanctuary. Over the years he attended many churches in Dubuque where he finally became a member of the Promiseland Ministries Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Victor Evans. Dale lived in the Ellis Apartments for years until the Lord lead him to The Rose Assisted Living, this is where the Lord blessed him with the love of his life, Karen Lau, and they were to get married this year.

Dale made his transition on December 26, 2020, and he leaves to mourn his church family, Karen Lau, the love of his life, Pastor Victor Evans, Pastor William McBain and a host of friends. Dale prepared to meet Jesus for he loved the Lord. Rest on my Brother, rest on.

To the Church Family Promise Land Ministries and Family of Brother Dale Braun!

We send our condolences and are praying for each of you!

I had the honor of meeting Brother Dale at our Leadership Conference in Des Moines, IA in Feb 2020. He caught my attention by standing in the door with a big smile on his face and he had a cane he was walking with. I went to the door to ask him how may I help him.. He told me he was waiting on his Pastor and Wife. He was referring to Pastor Victor Evans and First Lady Lucy Evans. I knew he was in the right place. I gave him a hug and ushered him in. I said, Brother Dale you may have my chair and I gave him my seat. I watched out for him until his Pastor and Wife came in the door. It was so important for me to show him love because he had made an extra effort to come to the leadership conference from Dubuque, IA.
He seemed to really be enjoying himself while he was there. All I could remember is that he made an impact on me. I will never forget him. I even took a picture of him to remember him. I would eventually send it to his Pastor and Wife and I talked about their friendly member that came to the Leadership Conference in 2020.
The Bible says: Matthew 22: 37-39 – Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
I pray my act of kindness left an impression on Brother Dale.
We will miss Brother Dale! Now, he is singing and playing his guitar all around heaven all day in the Heavenly Choir!

    God Bless,
    Chairlady Robin Clark
